I’m a Taurus with a moon in Gemini and rising in Scorpio. I think it’s the perfect combination of cool, crazy, and sexy, and most people in my life say that I’m a combination of all of these things.
As a sex coach, I take my client’s birthdays into deep consideration when it comes to being able to know how to talk to them and what kind of communication is best for them. Being a very direct communicator myself, for some people who are more sensitive, I may come off as harsh and emotionless, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. As an honest person, I tend to not hold back. If I do hold back, it’s because I’m carefully considering the situation around me and evaluating what would be best for the situation.
For instance, if I have a couple and I see that they are arguing about something, but they can’t seem to get any resolve, I step in immediately and communicate the issue on a more neutral ground that is both understandable to both parties. As a natural problem-solver, I’m able to observe what’s happening in the moment and then if I don’t see any momentum moving forward to resolve the issue, I intervene, solve the problem, and make my couple agree if they think they can do the action that was relayed.
So why is this important?
It’s important because I wouldn’t be able to do this work without knowing about whom I’m talking with and how we can work together to achieve their sexual goals. I have an amazing book that I turn to called The Secret Language of Birthdays that hasn’t let me down yet. It tells me certain personality traits and things that they need to feel trusted as human beings. This is important to me as a sex coach because if I know the way that they need to communicate, I can do my job better.
This is the same for your lover(s).
Playing to your lover’s communicative strengths and being aware of their communicative weaknesses is a way to not only know your lover better, but having the maximum awareness of how they communicate and what they mean when they communicate is crucial. We all come from varying experiences in our lives so our communication styles can come be shaped and socialized by family and other social institutions, but most of the time, the way we communicate can be seen through the stars.
For instance, as a Taurus, most astrologers say that Taurus tends to be reserved and quiet, but when they have something to say, they have words that will leave people in awe. I would like to think that I leave people in awe, but for the most part, that’s a pretty accurate description of my communication style. I don’t talk unless provoked. So, if you want to know something about me, it’s up to you to speak up and give me a question I can answer and then we can go from there.
It’s the same with sex. I’m generally reserved and quiet in the bedroom, unless provoked. When provoked, I speak up and I speak everything that I’m feeling. As I explained in my Art of Dirty Talk workshop over the weekend, I had to practice my dirty talk in order to feel comfortable because it was beyond my comfort zone. And that’s perfectly okay. Even if we aren’t naturally equipped with a skill, we can do our best to change those things, if we feel. Understanding what comes natural to us versus what we can change socially and experientially ultimately shapes our ideal (sex) lives.
So with that said, I invite you to learn more about your lover’s communication style and indulge them accordingly. You never know how you’ll be able to change the course of your sex life for the better!
